Looking to buy Batman Arkham City? Well check out this Batman Arkham City review. Obviously since the game hasn’t been released yet I cannot give it a actual review so I’ll be updating this when the game is released. This is more less going to be a preview for now.
Some players complained that the latest installment was released to soon, but I never fret about that if the game is of high quality. From the previews it seems the quality of the game certainly has not suffered as a result of speedy development.
Besides upgrades to movement, a few other cool additions include the return of the silent predator missions, combat, more gadgets, and from what I see in the Arkham City demo’s, a new detective mode.
Combat:
The combat system has evolved greatly since Arkham Assylum. After watching the Batman Arkham City Demo I’m convinced that combat is going to be sleek and sexy (Much like myself). Well anyway, Batman can now use double and tripple takedowns. A new counterattack has also been added which involves catching thrown objects and hurling them back at the attacker.
Few New Moves:
Beatdown- This is probably going to be the typical mash button. It unleashes a florry of punches and kicks toward the opponent. Apparently it’s good for taking down armoured enemies.
Throat Slam- A cool new move in which batman fires his grapple gun at an enemy while gliding. Batman then flies into the enemy and slams them into the ground.
Glide Kick- You can kick while gliding!
Following up combat, it looks like the movement also got a big rework as mentioned in the earlier post. It seems to me that anyone looking to buy Batman Arkham City is in for a treat as it looks like a much more refined version of its predecessor.
Gadgets:
In case you were wondering about the gadgets, here’s a quick list:
Explosive Gel-Self Explanatory, Boom!
Batclaw- Can pull enemies toward Batman
Line Launcher-Grapple thing I believe, don’t flame me if I’m wrong.
Batarangs- Probably the same thing we saw in Asylum
Remote Control Batarang- Same as in Asylum, but apparently holds an electric charge now.
Cryptographic Sequencer-Can be used to decrypt coded information and listen to radio broadcasts. Pretty cool addition imho.
Smoke Bombs- Think lots of smoke…
Well that should do it for now, after the release hopefully I’ll be able to post a full review. Check back then! Also be sure to check out the Arkham City Trailer Download. It is sweeet.
